Screen Printing
Screen Printing involves printing an ink design directly onto a garment. It includes separating your logo into individual colours and printing each individual colour as a separate layer. This is done by repeatedly squeezing an ink through the screen where the logo then gradually comes together, leaving you a final long lasting print of excellent quality.
Set up costs are charged for having the artwork or design made into a screen. The more colours in the design, the more expensive the print becomes as each colour requires an individual screen, and more colour applications are needed.
As standard, a single colour print on the front and a different two colour print on the back becomes three screens in total. However if you are printing light colours onto dark coloured garments, we usually include a “flash” screen which is a layer of white base ink as this enhances the print quality.
Screen printing is the printing method of choice for most designs over 25 pieces as it is not economical if producing small quantities due to the set up costs involved. .
